The list winnows down into the top 10 with team titles, and a year to remember on the softball diamond.

10. NEB girls hoops claims divisional title - It's starting to become business as usual for Northeast Bradford girls basketball. The Panthers claimed their seventh straight divisional title this past winter, and did it while going undefeated in Small School play. They had a 19-game win streak, and reached the district semifinals for the sixth straight season. They were able to do this despite losing three starters from last year's team. It did help that Leah Beebe returned to score her 1,000th point, with a strong junior class of Mallorie Maynard, Kara Dughi, Aurelia Kolesar, and Katrina Russell backing her up. Beebe and Maynard have kept their sisters' legacy going, as their older siblings have been part of the 7-year run. With Beebe gone the other four will be looking to reload to make it 8-straight next season.

9. A year to remember for NTL Softball - It's been a while since there's been a season like this for NTL Large School softball. The divisional champions, Athens, didn't clinch until their final game, and needed a 1-0 win over Troy to get it. Five of the six teams made districts - Athens, Towanda, NP-Liberty, Wyalusing, and Wellsboro - while Troy came up one win short. Thrillers were certainly on the order of the day with, with Athens' 3-2 win over Towanda in early May probably the one that takes the cake. However, there were plenty of close games for Athens (2-0, 3-0 wins over Wellsboro, 3-1 loss to NPL, 3-1 win over Troy), Towanda (2-1 win over Wyalusing, 4-2 wins over Wellsboro and NPL, 1-0 loss to NPL, 5-3 win over Wellsboro), and Wyalusing (4-0 win over Athens, 2-1 win over Troy, 4-0 win over NPL, 1-0 loss to NPL). Towanda had their best season in a decade with 14 wins, and earning a home district game. The Rams made a district final, an injury derailed Athens' post season, while Wellsboro got a taste of the playoffs after several years away. And a young Troy team grew the most this year, and lose just one starter, so the stars are aligning for another wire to wire finish in 2027.

8. Towanda golf ends Athens' NTL dominance - Athens golf had been unassailable in NTL golf for this decade, but Towanda changed that this past fall. The Knights had been building a team capable of taking the Wildcats down, and did it in commanding fashion. Towanda went 35-0 in league matches, and 37-2 overall. They didn't stop at the NTL, but won a District IV title to earn a berth in the state tournament. The boys also had state qualifiers in Boom Thompson and Graham Welles, while they posted season averages of 82.4 and 83.4. On the girls' side it's been all Towanda in the short lived league as they claimed an NTL title, and won their second straight district title. The team qualified for team states for the first time, while Clara Glantz earned a state spot. While the girls will have holes to fill, the boys return everybody as they look to start a long streak of their own.

7. Wyalusing claims NTL title - After years on the outside looking in the Rams were able to claim their first league title of the decade behind a strong senior class that featured three 100 match winners - Cole Patrick, Jonathan Earle, and Isiah Harvey - along with state qualifier Daniel Fox. They went 3-0 in league matches before Christmas with a big win over Troy (46-17), then powered out victories over Athens (41-37) and NEB (42-25). After the New Year they got wins over Wellsboro (71-4), Canton (52-20), Towanda (52-19), and NPL (60-13), which clinched the title for them. The win over the Knights brought them the Standing Stone Trophy back for the first time since 2021. They did end the season with a close loss to Williamson (35-29), but rebounded to make it to the final four at the District IV Duals. They say good-bye to half their line-up - Patrick, Earle, Harvey, Ethan Vanderpool, and Reuben Kinney - but return Fox, along with Conner Earle, Bostyn McMicken, Brenden Wells, Logan Wood, and Griffin Sheldon as they defend their league title.
