Down inside the top three now which features a team bringing back a title not seen in over 30 years, and dominance from a group of ladies.

3. NEB boys hoops claims first district title since 1991 - It took 35 years but NEB boys basketball got back on top of District IV this past winter with their 34-33 win over Muncy for the Class AA title. It was a defensive battle with Muncy content to hold the ball for long stretches, but NEB point guard Eli Stanton still showed out with 11 points, five boards, three assists, and two steals. Clay Wilks had nine points and 10 boards, as senior Cooper Brown finished with eight points, and four rebounds. NEB led 9-5 early but saw Muncy take an 11-9 lead at the first horn. NEB would take the back the lead at the half, 20-16, but a Muncy rally saw them get back in the game and it was never more than a four point difference the rest of the way. NEB would take a 31-30 lead halfway through the fourth and never relinquished it, going up 34-30 at one point. Muncy cut it to one but couldn't get over the top. The Panthers say good-bye to a talented senior class but have an equally talented group coming back to defend their title.

2. Troy girls continue their NTL dominance - The Lady Trojans continued to be a force to be feared this past year, especially in soccer, volleyball, and basketball. 

On the soccer pitch Troy made school history by reaching their first District IV title game, and by qualifying for states. Before that they went undefeated in NTL play to claim their sixth straight league title as Saydi Renzo became just the second player in program history to finish with over 50 goals and 50 assists, while Alexis McRoberts joined the 50 goals club. A 1-0 win over Huhgesville in the district semifinals was the high point of the season as not only did it make history for the team, it avenged a district loss from 2024. They finished the season 17-4, with two losses coming in the district title game, and the first round of states.

In volleyball the Trojans lifted their first District IV title trophy since 2014 as they went 18-2 on the year to repeat as NTL champions. Troy was dominant in the playoffs, going 9-2 in the 11 sets they played as they swept Towanda (3-0), then beat NPL (3-1) and Loyalsock (3-1) in four. They fell to Holy Redeemer in the state playoffs. Aryanna Andrus came up just short of 1,000 kills in her career, finishing with 408 on the season, while Brenna Jackson finished with 629 assists on the year. Ali Bailey added 386 digs to go with 243 points. 

For the winter Troy's basketball team also made history, earning their first state playoff win when they defeated Cambria Heights. They rolled through the NTL, going undefeated to repeat as Large School champions, while not losing a game in the month of January. They ended up third in the District IV, Class AAA Tournament thanks to a win over Mt. Carmel in the consolation game. After that they beat Cambria before falling to Trinity in the state playoffs. Troy would go 21-5 on the season as they finished in the Sweet 16 for the state.

There were plenty of cross-over players between these three teams. On soccer and basketball it was Giana Renzi, who is closing in on 50 career goals on the pitch while averaging 10.7 PPG, 4.3 APG, and 2.7 SPG on the basketball court. Kyah Renzo is also a soccer-to-basketball player, putting up 12.8 PPG, 6.1 RGP, and 3.6 SPG. Freshman Izzy Renzi stepped into the keeper role on soccer and made it her own, while in hoops she put up 6.1 PPG, 3.8 RPG, and 2.6 SPG. Raelyn Woodward is a defender on the soccer team, and brings that mentality to the basketball court with 9.4 PPG, 6.1 RGP, and 3.6 SPG, while Haidyn Watson is one of the best all-around talents in volleyball and proved to be an effective sixth-player in basketball. Between all three teams these girls went 56-11 with all three teams reaching the state playoffs. 

And all of these girls are back next season to try and keep the dominance going.
