TOWANDA — Towanda girls tennis fell in their season opener Monday, dropping their NTL math 5-0 to defending league champions Wellsboro.

At first singles Towanda's Nadia Alderfer fell 6-2, 6-0 to Amanda Goncalves, while at second singles Knight Dalila Vega lost 6-3, 6-4 to Piper Anderegg.

At third singles Towanda's Natalie Hicks fell 6-0, 6-0 to Serenity Mosher.

Towanda's first doubles duo of Olivia Masters and Johna McNeal lost 6-0, 6-2 to Angie Cory and Kyleigh Lynn. At second doubles the Black Knight duo of Kiera Miller and Rilyn Bonavita fell 6-0, 6-0 to Kya Lawton, and Selah Hoprich.

Towanda (0-1) will host Bucktail on Thursday with a 4 p.m. start.
