BOYS SOCCER: FLURRY OF GOALS LATE IN THE FIRST HALF LEAD TOWANDA PAST MCA (August 29, 2026)

TOWANDA — Towanda scored four goals in just over 20 minutes as they rolled past Meadowbrook Christian, 5-1, in their boys soccer opener on Saturday.
Ben Shrawder had two goals and an assist, as Josh Maye and Lucas Vincent each had a goal. Maye had two assists with Vincent getting one helper.
Noah Dalton had a goal with Walter Foley getting an assist.
Blaiz Nichols made seven saves in the win as Towanda out shot the Lions 11-7 while MCA had a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.
Shrawder started the scoring at the 26:44 mark off a Maye helper. Nine minutes later Maye scored off Foley's assist, followed by Shrawder's second goal at the 13:05 mark, once again assisted by Maye.
Vincent nabbed his first varsity goal with 2:43 left in the half as Shrawder gave him the helper.
Dalton would score halfway through the second half off a Vincent assist.
Towanda (1-0) hosts NP-Liberty on Tuesday.
