BOYS SOCCER: MAYE'S HAT TRICK LEADS TOWANDA PAST NP-LIBERTY (September 1, 2026)

TOWANDA — Josh Maye had a hat trick as Towanda rolled past NP-Liberty, 5-2 in NTL boys soccer action Tuesday.
It was 4-2 at the half with the Knights holding the Mounties scoreless in the second half.
Maye finished with three goals and an assist as Ben Shrawder had a goal with two assists. Lucas Vincent also had a goal.
The Knights had a 10-5 edge in shots and 7-1 advantage in corner kicks. Blaiz Nichols made two saves on the day for Towanda.
Vincent got the scoring started with a goal at the 33:15 mark off a Maye assist. NPL would knot the game up at 1-1 at 26:41, but that was short lived as a little over a minute later Maye got his first goal off a Shrawder assist.
Shrawder then drove home a penalty kick at 11:06 for a 3-1 lead. At the 7:12 mark Maye scored on a free kick.
NPL would get a goal at 5:24 for the 2-goal difference at the half.
Just under eight minutes into the second half Maye finished off the hat trick off a Shrawder helper.
Towanda (2-0) welcomes Wellsboro on Thursday.
