WYALUSING — Sullivan County started the season off strong as they defeated Wyalusing and Sayre in NTL cross-country action Tuesday.

On the boys side the Griffins won 19-36 over Wyalusing, and 15-50 against Sayre. The Rams beat Sayre 15-50, as well.

Sullivan's Calen Sweigart (18:08) won the race with Wyalusing's Aidan Neiley (18:48) in second.

Sullivan took the next four spots with Chase Preston (19:30.2), Seth Sweigart (19:30.8), Isaiah Botsford (19:42), and Carter Blasi (20;00).

Mitchell Gesford (20:07) was seventh as Wyalusing's second, followed by Caleb King (20:20) in eighth.

Rounding out their top eight were Parker Cunningham (20:46) and Griffin Sheldon (20:49).

On the girls' side Sullivan won 15-45 over Wyalusing with both teams winning 15-50 over Sayre.

Addisyn Templin (23:11) won the race for the Griffins, followed by teammates Paige Jordan (23:21), Zoey Reese (23:47), Kara Jordan (24:02), and Adilynn Thibodeault (24:27).

Camryn Gesford (24:38) led the Rams with a sixth place finish, followed by Reese Patrick (25:19), Madelyn Clark (25:58), Ireland Coats (26:09), and Marci Gowin (27:25).

In the junior high race for boys Sullivan won as Xander Kapler (12:40) took the individual title.

Wyalusing won the junior high girls race as Carleigh Reynolds (14:20) took the top spot for the Rams.
