ATHENS — Towanda volleyball suffered a close 5-set loss in NTL Large School volleyball action Thursday.

This was Towanda's first league loss of the season as they watched Athens win the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-23.

The Knights rallied for wins of 25-15 and 25-22, with Athens taking the final set 15-10.

Addison Barrett had six kills, 10 points, one ace, four blocks, and three digs for the Knights as Karis Flynn finished with 22 assists, 13 digs, six kills, one block, and seven points.

Kendall Kellogg had 15 points, two aces, five skills, 19 digs, and one block, with Brynsen Vargason getting 19 digs, six points, and an ace.

Kylee Barnes had 11 kills, five blocks, and a dig, with Lariah Long finishing with nine kills, nine digs, eight points, and an ace.

Ali Hollett had four assists, three digs, and one kill, as Hannah Crawford finished with 10 points, one ace, four kills, and a dig.

Mercede Overpeck chipped in with an assist.

Towanda swept Athens in the JV match, 25-20 and 25-18.

Addison Aquilio had 13 points, six digs, six assists, and an ace, with Emma Space getting seven kills, two points, and an ace.

Overpeck had six points, three aces, and eight digs, with Madelyn Nash finishing with five points, four kills, and five digs.

Adaleigh Jankowsky had four kills, five points, two aces, and a dig, as Samantha Hartigan tallied five digs with one point.

Emma Bride had two kills, with Ella Rice getting, a kill and a block.
