Wyalusing (0-3) will face Cowanesque Valley (0-3) as the Indians' home field undergoes renovations. Kick-off is slated for Friday at 7 p.m.

The Rams had another setback at Canton last week, but coach Jeffrey Hindman continues to see improvement.

"We were finally able to get some turnovers on defense, so those interceptions are a good sign of progress within the defensive scheme," he said. "The guys are playing really hard, I just have to do a better job at putting them in position, working to their strengths and leveraging our advantages. At times we moved the ball, so it's working as a staff to see how we can play call better to not stall out on drives."

The Indians may be winless but have two close games under their belt, with losses to Canton (22-9) and Wellsboro (26-13).

"CV is always a physical team, so we know they are going to come out hard and fast," said Hindman. "We need to come out ready to go from the first whistle and play a complete game. We've had some pieces falling into place and we just have to put them all together."

While the pass game has shown promise the last two weeks the Rams would like to start bringing their run game around to complement it.

"It's all about consistency, working to get to our blocks on each and every play," Hindman said. "We had some good runs against Canton but we also had negative yardage runs too often. We are starting to see more progress as the younger lineman adjust to the scheme. We're looking to get back to what we know and try to spark the ground game to take the pressure off the passing game that we've been forced to rely on. I know our guys can make it happen, it's about me putting them in a position to be successful and build the confidence."

KEYS TO THE GAME

Wyalusing - Put some drives together. A ball control offense is the best defense, and if the Rams can put together a few first downs, and win the field position battle it'll help their defense tremendously.

CV - Control the line of scrimmage. Wyalusing has some size up front, if CV can negate that they'll be able to get their athletes out into space.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Conner Earle, Wyalusing, LB/OL - He'll need to be productive on the defensive side of things in order to keep the Indians offense in check.

Dave Hess, CV, QB/RB - Injuries have forced Hess into a bit of a do everything roll, so he'll be hard to miss on the field.
