LAPORTE — Towanda was able to pack things in on the back half as they edged Sullivan County, 27-30, during NTL boys cross-country action Tuesday.

Sullivan boys beat NPM 23-32, while the Knights won 22-35, while the Lady Knights earned a sweep on the girls side.

NPM's Michael Knefley (17:23) edged out Towanda's Emmett Klees (17:28) for first, setting a new course record in the process.

Sullivan took the next two spots with Calen Sweigart (17:41) and Chase Preston (18:21), while Black Knight Boom Thompson (18:31) was fifth overall, and the battled was on.

Griffin Carter Blasi (18:37) held off Towanda's Brayden Cox (18:41) for sixth, giving Sullivan an edge, then Seth Sweigart (19:01) took eighth ahead of Knight Phillip Spinney (19:21) in ninth.

The Knights, though, were able to get three ahead of Sullivan's fifth as Hagen Jones (20:29) was 12th, Wyatt Jones (20:24) took 14th, and Jayden Stranger (20:29) finished 15th.

Hunter Miller (20:47) was 16th for Sullivan's fifth.

On the girls side Towanda's Maris Cobb (20:32) set a new course record as she led a Black Knight sweep. Izzy Larson (20:47) and Mary-Kate Eberlin (21:25) were second and third.

Towanda beat Sullivan 22-33, and NPM 19-41. The Lady Griffins tops NPM 22-32.

Kenzie Brown (22:55) was eighth overall for the Knights, with Leila Cobb (25:44) taking 12th to round out their scorers.

For Sullivan Paige Jordan (22:32) was sixth, with Addison Templin (22:41) seventh. Zoey Reese (22:58), Kara Jordan (23;05), and Addi Thibodeault (23:56) were ninth through 11th.

In junior high action Sullivan's Brody Peterman (12:05) won the boys race as NPM's Emma Cote (13:39) took the girls win.

NPM topped Sullivan 18-41 in the girls race.

For boys Sullivan beat Towanda 18-34, and NPM 19-44, while Towanda defeated NPM 16-20.
