WELLSBORO — A first half goal was the difference in Wellsboro's 1-0 win over Wyalusing during NTL girls soccer action Thursday.

Lauren Gehman scored with 6:37 left in the half off a Kate Bryant assist, and the Hornets defense held in the second half.

Despite the setback Wyalusing's coach Katie Fischer feels her team played well.

"The girls played a strong game and clearly showed the progress they’ve made over the season," she said. "We’ll continue to build as we head into the next few weeks."

Wyalusing out shot Wellsboro 23-16 though the Rams had a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.

Sierra Gromley made 10 saves in net for Wyalusing.
