MANSFIELD — The Towanda Black Knight boys golf team clinched their second straight NTL title on Thursday, taking second in NTL 18-hole action at Corey Creek.

The Knights (320) were edged out by Athens (319) for first, but their overall NTL record of 32-3 bested the Wildcats' 31-4.

Wellsboro (354) was second, followed by CV (360), NPM (366), Canton (374), Wyalusing (392), and Sayre (407).

Graham Welles shot 76 to lead Towanda followed by Boom Thompson's 77.

Harper Welles notched 81, Owen Savercool had 86, Jason Wickwire finished with 89, and Dempsey Stevens added a 97.

Thompson had four birdies - the par-4 sixth hole, the par-4 13th, the par-4 14th, and the par-4 17th - to go with 10 pars.

Graham Welles had a birdie on the par-3 16th to go with 12 pars.

Stevens had a birdie on the par-4 17th with two pars. Harper Welles had 10 pars, Savercool finished with seven pars, and Wickwire added five pars.

Towanda took second on the girls side with a 293, behind league champions Athens (291). Sayre shot 407, and Wyalusing carded 540.

Olivia Heath shot 95 to lead the Knights with Izzy Repsher and Payton Perry both getting 99. Rosie Glantz finished with a 107, and Gemma Brown and Laura Glantz each getting 121.

Rosie Glantz had five pars, as Heath, Perry, and Repsher had four pars apiece.
