GOLF: CANTON'S VERIMLYA LEADS FIVE AREA GOLFERS IN QUALIFYING FOR D4 INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT (September 30, 2026)

MONTGOMERY — Five area golfers punched their ticket to the District IV Individual Tournament next week at the qualifier on Wednesday.
Leading the way was Canton's Levi Vermilya, who led all qualifiers with a 78, while the Towanda trio of Baylee Clark (81), Dempsey Stevens (81), and Deegan Blumenauer (82) all qualified. Wyalusing's Camron Cole hit the cut-off mark of 88 to sneak in.
Vermilya stayed hot, scoring three birdies in three of his last four holes on the day. He had birdies on the par-4 sixth hole, the par-5 eighth hole, and par-4 ninth hole.
Vermilya also had seven pars.
Stevens had 10 pars on the day, Clark finished with nine pars, and Blumenauer scored five pars to go with birdies on the par-4 10th hole, and the par-5 14th hole.
Cole had a birdie on the par-4 11th hole, while also earning eight pars. He parred out the final three holes to qualify.
Wyalusing's Myles Kershner (89) missed the cut-off by one stroke while Canton's Garrett Parks shot 94, Wyalusing's Noah Moss had a 97, Sullivan County's Carter Reis carded a 102, and Canton's Teyton Thompson had 106.
