FOOTBALL: CANTON BRINGS IN ATHENS FOR BIG CROSS-OVER TILT (October 15, 2026)

Canton (4-3) will host Athens (6-1) as they look to bounce back from last week's close loss to Muncy.
"Athens has a senior heavy team and has been playing some good football," Canton coach Tyler Sechrist said. "Their offense is explosive and has been putting up a lot of points while their defense is physical and fast."
Last week The Warriors out gained Muncy by nearly 100 yards but only managed to score one touchdown, something they hope to change this week.
"We need to continue to make plays to finish drives by completing our blocking assignments, catching the football and giving Owen time to throw the ball," said Sechrist.
Defensively, they need to find out how to contain Athens quarterback Connor Davidson, who is threat with his legs as well as his arm.
"Connor is a threat every time he touches the ball we will need to break down and make tackles he also has a lot of weapons on offense he can get the ball to," said Sechrist.
KEYS TO THE GAME
Athens - Give Connor Davidson running lanes. When Connor has room to run there's very little defenses can do. In their loss to Troy the Trojans were able to keep him contained, easier said than done.
Canton - Ball control. The less Davidson is under center the better for Canton, controlling the time of possession will help the Warriors defense.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Kaden Rowe, Athens, WR - Rowe has 34 catches for 482-yards and eight touchdowns this season as one of Davidson's top two targets.
Uriah Talada, Canton, C, DT - A lot will be asked of Talada as they go up against the big Athens linemen in the trenches.
