FOOTBALL: TROY LOOKS TO KEEP WIN STREAK GOING AGAINST SAYRE (October 15, 2026)

BY CHRIS MANNING
Northern Tier Sports Report
Troy (6-1) hits the road to Sayre (2-5) as they get ready for three straight NTL cross-over games to end the season.

The Redskins are coming off a 56-7 loss to Montgomery last week, but do sport a 2-game win streak on the season.

"Sayre looks to be doing some really good things," said Troy coach Lori Smith. "They have a sound scheme and have a nice base to build for their future. They are trying to do the basic things correctly. They have a bright future if they stay on track. They have some tough kids and good size."

The Trojans have won six straight, out scoring opponents 157-51 over the last three wins.

Still, don't expect Troy to relax any.

"It’s high school football and we cannot afford to take anybody lightly," Smith said. "We certainly cannot afford to compare records or anticipate scores. Football games are played for a reason. We are excited to continue striving for little improvements every week. We will approach this week no differently."

KEYS TO THE GAME
Troy - Come out strong. In their wins Sayre has had strong second halves, but if Troy gets enough cushion it should protect against that.

Sayre - Be physical up front. The Trojans only play one way - downhill - so the Redskins need to be ready to meet that.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Seth Feldmeier, Troy, OL - Feldmeier is a 3-year starter on Troy's offensive line, while on defense he has 28 tackles, including six tackles for loss.

Brayden Vorhis, Sayre, WR - Vorhis is one of their top targets, and can pick up yards in a hurry.
