FOOTBALL: WYALUSING HITS THE ROAD TO WELLSBORO (October 15, 2026)

Northern Tier Sports Report
Wyalusing (0-7) hits the road as they travel to Wellsboro (2-5) as they look to rebound from last week's loss to South Williamsport.

The Hornets are coming off a big win over Towanda.

"Wellsboro is a very talented team, they have the weapons to hurt you on offense," said Wyalusing coach Jeffrey Hindman. "Morral can sling the ball around and seems to find the open target with ease. It's easy to get caught up in the pass game, but the run game can get chunks of yards."

The Rams started with a young team, and injuries have meant even more younger players are seeing varsity time, so the coaching staff is doing a lot of teaching to get them up to varsity level.

"We've been preaching discipline and doing your job," Hindman said. "With so many young guys seeing significant playing time, we've been shuffling players around and trying to find the best fit for everyone. We're stressing pre-snap alignment, knowing we're you're supposed to be before the play and making the right key read at the snap. We need to keep each player focused on doing their job and trusting their teammates to do theirs."

Morral is a dual threat quarterback, and they made some big plays in the passing game last week, so that's a concern for the Wyalusing coaching staff.

"We have to generate a pass rush and limit the amount of time the QB can sit in the pocket," Hindman said. "A good pash rush can be very disruptive to a quarterback. If we can make him uncomfortable, it will help our coverage guys with their assignments."

KEYS TO THE GAME
Wyalusing - Get that pass rush going. South was able to throw the ball well last week, and the Rams need to keep that from happening this week.

Wellsboro - Use their speed. Wyalusing did a decent job stuffing the inside run last week, so look for the Hornets to get outside the tackles and use their speed.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Matthew Ferguson, Wyalusing, DB - The Ram secondary will be busy, and that includes the sophomore Ferguson.

Ethan Keane, Wellsboro, WR - Keane had three catches for 48-yards and a touchdown last week, and is one of many Hornet receivers to watch.
