LITTLE LEAGUE: TOWANDA MINORS BASEBALL RALLIES PAST CANTON TO STAY ALIVE (2021-07-04)

Northern Tier Sports Report
TOWANDA — Towanda Minors baseball rallied from a 4-0 deficit halfway through the game to beat Canton 10-8 on Sunday.

The contest was postponed from Saturday due to rain, and the Little Leaguers didn’t disappoint, as they showed off some fireworks for the Fourth.

The win keeps Towanda alive in the consolation bracket, as they move into the final four, while Canton is eliminated, but reached the top six in the district. Towanda will now travel to Athens on Tuesday, with a 6 p.m. start.

The winner faces off with the loser of Wellsboro-Southern Tioga, who also play on Tuesday, on Thursday.

With that game all the brackets still playing should be caught up from the several rain delays of late last week.

In Majors baseball action Athens will host Wellsboro on Monday in the winner’s bracket, while in the consolation bracket Sayre welcomes Allegheny Mountain. Both games will be at 6 p.m.

In 9-10-11 baseball RTL hosts Athens on Monday to open bracket play, while Sayre travels to Montrose. Both games are at 6 p.m.

In Minors softball RTL travels to Susquehanna County on Tuesday as the final two left in the consolation bracket. The game is a 5:30 p.m. start.

The winner travels to undefeated Towanda on Thursday, which will also be a 5:30 p.m. start.
