LITTLE LEAGUE: RTL BASEBALL, SOFTBALL NOTCH BIG BRACKET WINS (2021-07-06)

WYALUSING — It was a good day for RTL, as their 9-10-11 baseball team, and their minor softball team both won in District 15 All-Star action Tuesday.

The baseball team defeated Montrose 11-1 in four innings to claim the winner’s bracket. They will now wait until Saturday as Montrose plays Sayre to decide who will face RTL.

Cameron Cole had a hit with three runs scored, as Wiley Trobaugh had a hit with two runs scored.

Campbell Cole, and Landry Tinna each had a hit with a run scored, as Greyson Vaow, Eli Tinna, Dillion Gonsauls, and Garrett Gowin each crossed home. Gage Tinna chipped in with a hit.

Campbell Cole got the win, striking out eight in the effort.

The softball team avenged a loss from earlier in the season, beating Susquehanna County 9-6 to advance from the consolation bracket. Susquehanna edged them 14-13 in pool play.

They will face Towanda, who has beaten them twice, on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. If Towanda wins, they claim the District 15 title, if RTL get the wins, the two teams will meet once again on Saturday for a winner-take-all.
