AAU SOFTBALL: SILVER BULLETS WIN SILVER BRACKET TITLE (2021-07-12)

Northern Tier Sports Report
HUGHESVILLE  — The Silver Bullets, out of Williamsport, rallied to beat the Worth Prospects, 8-7, to win the Silver Bracket at a 12U tournament in Hughesville this past weekend.

The Silver Bullets Black boast two players from Bradford County - Troy’s Haidyn Watson, and Canton’s Jaylee Ward. Both of them had hits in the contest.

Watson pitched six innings, striking out four.

The Silver Bullets found themselves down 3-0 after the top of the first, but they scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning as a triple from Easton Waller scored two - including Watson - with Waller then scoring on a single.

The Worth would add three more runs in the third to go up 6-3, but the Bullets answered with a run in the bottom of the fourth as Galeton’s Brielle Lehman scored.

After a scoreless fifth the Bullets chipped away some more in the sixth, scoring another run to cut it to 6-5.

The Worth were able to get that run back in the seventh, to take a 7-5 lead.

In their final at bat, the Bullets rallied. Ward sparked things with a run scoring double to cut the deficit to one run again. Ward then scored off a Kinsley Cannode double to tie things up. She would get pushed around to third by her teammates, then took home on a wild pitch to grab the win.

Kiley Long led the Silver Bullets with three hits on the day.

The Silver Bullets Black will be at the Keystone Select State Championships in State College next weekend.
