Northern Tier Sports Report
WYALUSING — Hailey Jayne had a second half hat trick and Wyalusing defeated NEB 6-0 on a rainy Tuesday in NTL girls’ soccer action.

Olivia Haley and Olivia Spencer each had a goal with two assists the contest.

NEB played the contest shorthanded with no subs, having just 11 players.

It was 2-0 in the first half with Layla Botts scoring the first Ram goal. Off a corner kick Haley found Botts, who put it past the goalie for the 1-0 lead.

The second goal was an all Olivia score as Spencer hit Haley with a nifty past through the defense that Haley hit home.

At the start of the second half Haley found Jayne on a breakaway. Jayne got the ball on her strong foot and powered one through for the first of her three goals on the day.

Spencer assisted on Jayne’s second goal to make it 4-0. Spencer made it 5-0 off a Jayne assist.

Jayne then had the final goal of the game off a Callie Bennett helper.

The Rams controlled possession for much of the game as NEB goalie Ciana Frisbie made quite a few diving and leaping saves throughout the contest. She and Holly Towner combined for 13 saves.

Pearl O’Connor got the clean sheet for Wyalusing, who had 11 saves in the contest.

Wyalusing had a 17-11 edge in shots.

NEB travels to NP-Mansfield on Thursday with a 4 p.m. start while Wyalusing heads to Sayre for a 5:30 p.m. start that same day.
