THE WEEK AHEAD: CANTON VOLLEYBALL, FOOTBALL LOOK TO KEEP THEIR SEASONS GOING (2021-11-14)

Northern Tier Sports Report
Just two fall sports teams are left, and they’re both from Canton. The Lady Warriors will play in the volleyball state semifinals on Tuesday, with the football slated to play in the first round of states on Saturday.

FOOTBALL

Saturday, November 20

Canton (12-0) at Steelton-Highspire (7-2) at Towanda, 3 p.m.: The Warriors return to the comfy confines of Endless Mountains Stadium this weekend to take on the Rollers. Steel-High beat Delone Catholic 42-20 in the District III title game on Saturday. They beat Muncy a year ago in the opening round of the state tournament, 50-43.


VOLLEYBALL

Tuesday, November 16

Canton (17-3) vs Sacred Heart Academy (18-7) at Hazleton, 6 p.m.: The Warriors are in the state final four, and will face District-I champion Sacred Heart. Sacred defeated Marian Catholic 3-1 in the quarterfinals, the team that beat Canton in the playoffs last year. If Canton wins they’ll play in the state finals on Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at Cumberland Valley.
