NTL VOLLEYBALL: CANTON'S WILLIAMS NAMED NTL MVP (2021-11-18)

The area schools had a lot of representation on the NTL volleyball all-stars, led by Canton’s Aislyn Williams being named the Overall MVP.

Williams helped Canton to the NTL Division-II and District IV, Class A titles, even making a run to the state final four.


Wyalusing’s Priscilla Newton was named the Defensive MVP, as she picked up her 500th and 750th career dig during the year.


The Offensive MVP is Towanda’s Paige Manchester, who had over 250 kills on the season.


The Coach of the Year is Canton’s Sheila Wesneski, who won her fifth straight District IV title, while also leading the Warriors to another NTL title.


NPL’s Darby Stetter was named the Utility Player of the Year.


The first team members of the NTL Division-II all-star team are Wyalusing’s Emilee Otis, NEB’s Emily Susanj, Canton’s duo of Jillaney Hartford and Rachel Martin, and Williamson’s Riley Sargent and Adelaide Schmitt.


On the second team are Canton’s Keri Wesneski and Allyson Butcher, Wyalusing’s London Edwards and Reanne Rodriguez, and Williamson’s Grace Stephens and Taylor Rae Jones.


The first team NTL Division-I all-stars are Towanda’s Maddy Maynard and Brea Overpeck, Athens’ Jenny Ryan, NPL’s Aubrey Pequignot and Saige Lehman, and Wellsboro’s Emma Owlett.


The second team members are Troy’s Meredith Cole and Madison Vargas, Athens’ Ally Martin, Wellsboro’s Christina Logsdon, and NPL’s Payton Chapel and Emerald Walker.
