NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: NEB HITS THE GROUND RUNNING ON FIRST DAY (2021-11-19)

ROME — There were a lot of new faces on the court for the NEB boys’ basketball team, with emphasis on a lot.

“We have 17 total this year, so we’re kind of back up,” said Panther coach Paul Burgert. “Which is great.”

NEB made a run to the district semifinals in the playoffs last year, but they’ve had a lot of turnover since then, so, as of now, they’re just taking it one day at a time.

One thing’s for sure, they can’t wait until games start up again.

“It feels amazing to be back in the gym,” said Burgert. “And it’s going to be even more amazing when we have fans again.”
