NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: WYALUSING GETS THE OFFENSE GOING IN WIN OVER SAYRE (2022-01-13)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — Wyalusing was able to break out offensively as they defeated Sayre 57-30 in NTL girls’ basketball action on Thursday.
Six different Rams got their name in the scorebook, led by Bryn Zionkowski’s 17 points, to go with five boards, and five steals.
Olivia Leichliter added 13 points, eight boards, and four steals, with Marissa Johnson getting 10 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Rachel Wilson finished with eight points, and two steals, as Chloe Bennett had five points, to go with five steals. Olivia Spencer chipped in with four points, and four rebounds, as Elana Jennings had five rebounds, and four assists.
Wyalusing jumped out to a 13-6 first quarter lead as Zionkowski had six points, and Leichliter netted five. In the second Leichliter tossed in six more points as five different Rams scored to push their advantage to 27-10.
In the third Zionkowski led the rams with six points to help them take a 29-point lead into the final frame, where Wyalusing out scored the Redskins 14-6, behind seven points from Johnson.
Wyalusing will be hitting the road on Saturday as they travel to Towanda for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
