NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: WYALUSING HAS BEST OFFENSIVE GAME OF THE SEASON IN WIN OVER WILLIAMSON (2022-01-22)

WYALUSING — Wyalusing saw three different Rams hit double figures as they pulled away from Williamson 56-27 during NTL girls’ basketball action Saturday.

Olivia Leichliter had a double-double of 13 points and 10 boards to go with three blocks, as Bryn Zionkowski added 19 points - including a team high three 3-pointers - to go with three steals.


Elana Jennings finished with 10 points and five boards, as Olivia Spencer had six points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.


Rachel Wilson and Chloe Bennett had four points a piece, with Bennett also getting two steals and two assists. Layla Botts rounded out the Rams with one point.


It was a tight first quarter as Wyalusing led just 12-8, led by eight points from Zionkowski, while Taylor Rae-Jones had six for the Warriors.


The Rams were able to stretch out their lead with a 15-4 run in the second quarter, behind six points from Zionkowski and Leichliter, taking a 27-12 lead at the half.


Wyalusing added 12 more points in the third, doing most of their damage from the free throw line as they went 8-for-11 in the frame, extending their advantage to 39-19.


In the fourth they rattled off 17 points behind Jennings’ 10, including two 3-balls. In all Wyalusing had their best shooting day of the season, hitting six 3-pointers, and going 14-of-24 from the free throw line.


The Rams will travel to Wellsboro on Monday for a make-up.
