NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: TOWANDA JUMPS OUT EARLY IN WIN OVER CV (2022-01-24)

TOWANDA — Towanda won their seventh straight game, and stayed undefeated in the NTL, with a 53-23 win over CV during NTL girls’ basketball action Monday.

The Knights jumped out to a 24-5 first quarter lead and never looked back as three different players scored in double figures.

Porschia Bennett had 16 points, six boards, five steals, and two assists for Towanda, with Paige Manchester getting seven boards, three assists, and four steals.

Gracie Schoonover finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, and five blocks, while Bella Hurley had six points, and four boards. Destiny Brennan chipped in with four points, and four rebounds, with Alonna Ayers rounding things out with one point.

Bennett and Manchester combined for 21 first quarter points to give the Knights the 19-point lead. In the second quarter they held CV to just one point, as Hurley led the way with five for Towanda, giving them a 40-6 lead at the break.

Towanda will travel to Canton on Wednesday.
