ON TAP TODAY: FOUR BOYS' HOOPS GAMES WITH A COUPLE WRESTLING MATCHES (2022-01-25)

Northern Tier Sports Report
Four hoops game with some dual meet wrestling mixed in.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Wyalusing (10-5) at NP-Mansfield (9-2), 7:30 p.m.: One of the biggest games of the week as the Tigers need a win here to stay in the NTL Division-I title hunt. For Wyalusing, a victory here helps separate them even more from second place Canton.

Canton (10-4) at Towanda (4-10), 7:30 p.m.: The Warriors will be looking to rebound from their loss against Troy, and need a win here to keep in contact with Wyalusing for the NTL Division-II title. The Knights finally got over the hump of winning a close game, edging CV on a buzzer beating lay-up, and will be trying to build on that tonight.

Sayre (2-11) at Troy (10-2), 7:30 p.m.: The Trojans will be looking to rebound from their loss against Athens as they host the other valley team, Sayre. The Redskins have lost 10 straight, but played NEB and Wellsboro tough in their last two contests.

NEB (3-11) at Wellsboro (10-2), 7:30 p.m.: The Panthers take the long trip out west to face the Hornets, who are on a five game win streak, but had to sneak out wins over Towanda and Sayre. The Panthers are coming off a loss to the Tigers, but rallied to beat Sayre before that.

WRESTLING

Wyalusing (12-6) at NP-Liberty (5-6) w/Williamson (5-8), 6 p.m.: The Rams will look to close out their regular dual meet season with a pair of road wins tonight. They’ll likely need both victories in order to host a district duals match next week.

Wellsboro (1-6) at NEB (2-16), 7 p.m.: The Panthers welcome the Hornets for their regular season finale. NEB is coming off a strong performance in their duals that saw Brock Fenton go 5-0.
