NTL WRESTLING: TOWANDA'S GREEN INTO SEMIFINALS AT ULTIMATE WARRIOR (2022-01-28)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWEST BRANCH — Towanda’s Bryant Green had reached the semifinals at the Ultimate Warrior on Friday, with three Knights still alive.
Green (172) opened with a 16-1 technical fall, then defeated Bald Eagle’s Caleb Close 1-0 to reach the semis. He will take on Southern Columbia’s Garrett Garcia there.
Mason Higley (160) and Riley Vanderpool (138) are both alive in the consolations.
Higley opened with a fall, but then got pinned himself in the next round. He then scored two pins in the wrestle backs to get to the round of eight, where he will face Bald Eagle’s Cameron Dubbs.
Vanderpool won his first match by fall, then used a 9-2 decision to get to the quarters. That’s where he lost 13-2 to drop to the consolations, where he’ll face Marion Center’s Liam Cornetto.
Also for Towanda, Jared Gunther (285) and Rylee Sluyter (126) went 2-2, Wyatt Stranger (106) finished 1-2, and Garrett Chapman (145), Jace Gunther (152), and Shane Atwood (120) ended up 0-2.
Towanda currently sits 17th with 41.5 points.
