ON TAP TODAY: QUITE A FEW GAMES ON ANOTHER GOOD DAY FOR DIAMOND ACTION (2022-05-12)

Northern Tier Sports Report
A fairly busy day full of make-up games as the weather continues to cooperate.

BASEBALL

SAYRE (15-1) at NEB (5-11), 4:30 p.m.: The Panthers just played the Redskins last week, and will try to knock off the division champs in their final week of play.

Troy (6-9) at Canton (11-8), 4:30 p.m.: The Trojans will try to keep their playoff hopes alive as they look to avenge a loss from earlier in the season the Warriors, one in which Canton rallied from 7-runs down to win 11-10.

Wallenpaupack (12-1) at Wyalusing (17-1), 4:30 p.m.: While everybody maybe anticipating the Wyalusing-Sayre match-up, Wallenpaupack is no slouch, either, as they lead the District II, 5A standings.

SOFTBALL

Wellsboro (7-11) at Towanda (4-11), 4:30 p.m.: The Lady Knights will be holding their annual ‘Pink Game’ as they face the Hornets. Wellsboro was able to get the win on their home turf, so Towanda would like to return the favor.

Wallenpaupack (10-5) at Wyalusing (13-4), 4:30 p.m.: Another tough test for the Rams as they gear up for districts. They’re just behind Muncy in the standings for the second seed, so a win here against a strong Wallenpaupack team would push them back up to the two spot.

Susquehanna at NEB (12-1), 4:30 p.m.: One half of their tournament from April that was postponed will be played today. The Panthers are coming off a big win over Wyalusing, and face NPL on Friday, as they gear up for district play.
