NTL BASEBALL: WYALUSING DROPS GAME TO WALLENPAUPACK (2022-05-12)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — Wyalusing fell to Wallenpaupack 8-2 during non-league baseball action Thursday.
The loss is just Wyalusing’s second this year.
Wallenpaupack led 3-0 after the first inning, then added two more in the top of the third to take a 5-0 edge.
The Rams battled back, with runs in the bottom half of the third and fourth to cut it to 5-2.
Wallenpaupack would then scored three more runs in the top of the fifth to secure the win.
Robert English (2-for-3) had a double with a run scored, while Jacob Bruyn (2-for-3), and Nick Vanderpool Jr. (2-for-3), also had multi-hit games. Bruyn drove in a run, as well.
Trehnon Hugo (1-for-3) had a double with a run scored, as Hunter Moss (1-for-3) also had a hit.
Hugo got the start, and went five innings for the loss. He allowed 10 hits, no walks, and eight runs, seven of which were earned.
Hunter House pitched an inning, striking out one with one walk, and one hit. C.J. Carr went the final inning, allowing one hit.
The Rams (16-2) will host NTL Division-II champions Sayre on Friday.
