NTL SOFTBALL: NEB HAS 22 HITS IN WIN OVER SUSQUEHANNA (2022-05-12)

ROME — NEB pounded out 22 hits in their 34-0 win over Susquehanna, a game that didn’t make it out of the first inning.
The Sabres called the game late in the first inning.
The Panthers had eight extra base hits as Emily Susanj (3-for-4) had a home run with 6-RBI, and a run scored.
Emily Susanj (3-for-4) had a home run, and two doubles, with 6-RBI, and a run scored, while Toni Herb (3-for-3) had two doubles, one triple, three runs scored, and 3-RBI.
Thailey Franklin (4-for-4) had a triple, with four runs scored, and 3-RBI, while Kelsea Moore (3-for-3) had two doubles, four runs scored, and 2-RBI.
Hannah Berger (1-for-1) had a double with 2-RBI, and a run scored, as Kayleigh Thoman (2-for-4) and Melanie Shumway (2-for-2) also had multi-hit games. Thoman scored three times, and drove in two runs, as Shumway found home three times.
Makenna Callear (1-for-1), Ciana Frisbie (1-for-2), Julia Brown (1-for-2), and Mikayla Post (1-for-2) also had hits.
Malina Ramires and Brown each scored three times, Post crossed home twice, with Callear, Kiarra Delancey, Alexis Corter, and Gracelyn Laudermilch also scoring runs.
Brown had 2-RBI, with Callear, Frisbie, and Post all driving in runs.
Franklin went an inning to get the win, striking out two, with one walk.
NEB used four straight singles to open the game, and take a 2-0 lead. After Franklin and Ramires stole home a Moore double brought in Frisbie.
Herb followed with a double that scored Moore and Brown to make it 7-0. Herb would later score on a passed ball to make it 8-0.
A Thoman walk, followed by Shumway single, got the rally going again, as Franklin scored both with a triple. She would later score on a hit by Susanj, whose courtesy runner, Ramires, then scored off a Frisbie hit.
Frisbie and Moore would both later score to make it 14-0. Herb would then triple in Brown, then scored on a wild pitch for a 16-0 lead.
However, Susquehanna was able to get a second out.
After a Shumway walk, Post would score on a wild pitch, followed by Franklin singling. Shumway would later score on a steal of home, followed by Susanj hitting a 2-run blast for the 20-0 lead.
A Frisbie walk would lead to a Moore double that scored her, as Moore would later score on a Brown hit. Herb then doubled in Brown for a 23-0 advantage.
Herb would score on a Post hit, followed by Thoman reaching on an error. Post later scored on a Callear single, with Thoman scoring on an error off the bat of Franklin.
Susanj then doubled in Callear and Franklin to make it 28-0 Panthers.
Three batters later Berger doubled in Ramires, Laudermilch, and Mooore to make it 31-0.
An error off the bat of Delancey allowed Berger to come home.
After a Corter walk, a Thoman hit allowed Delancey and Corter to score to make it 34-0.
NEB (13-1) hosts NP-Liberty on Friday.
