ATHENS — The Troy boys’ track and field team led the NTL Championships most of the way on Friday, but they ran out of point getters as Williamson pulled past them to take the team title.

The Trojans finished with 115 points to Williamson’s 135.5.

Dustin Hagin was a two time champion, winning the triple jump (43-feet, 9 1/2-inches) and the 110 hurdles (14.97). He also took second in the 300 hurdles (42.43) and the long jump (21-feet, 2-inches).

“I definitely accomplished,” said Hagin. “I wish I could have maybe pulled out a win in the 300s, but it was a good day.”

Hagin has been nearly as good in the jumps this year as the hurdles, and he’s enjoying every minute of it.

“It’s actually a lot of fun,” he remarked. “I haven’t had a chance to do it in previous years because I’ve had some knee problems, and other things, but it’s a lot of fun. It adds a new element, of course, I love my hurdles, but it’s always nice to throw something new in.”

Hagin’s always had four events, so going to the max is nothing new for him.

“I’ve built a good amount of leg strength and endurance for all of my events,” he said. “It’s a different kind of tired, but I’ve been able to build some muscle over the season.”

It’s also been a pleasant surprise to see how well he could do, especially in the triple jump, where he’s close to the state standard.

“I won’t say I expect to triple 44,” he said. “I expected to do well. I’m a volleyball players, jumping’s kind of my thing, but it was definitely a happy surprise.”

Colin Loveland had a strong day, taking second in the triple jump (41-feet, 6-inches), third in the long jump (20-feet, 7-inches), and sixth in the 100 (11.60).

Jacob Hinman (53.76) took second in the 400, with Jacob Wales (56.86) eighth. Isais Watkins (24.38) was sixth in the 200, while Hart Houseknecht (11:19.29) came in sixth in the 3200, while taking eighth in the mile at 5:07.37.

Blake Shedden (16.54) was third in the 110 hurdles, while Austin Smith (47.35) and Rylan Breidt (48.22) were sixth and seventh in the 300 hurdles.

The 4x800 relay was third in 9:06.32, the 4x400 relay was fourth in 3:46.10, and the 4x100 relay took sixth in 46.95.

Seth Seymour (11-feet) was second in the pole vault, with Hinman (8-feet, 6-inches0 sixth. Mason Imbt (45-feet, 10 3/4-inches) was second in the shot put, while Avery Sens (39-feet, 5-inches) came in eight. Wyatt Hodlofski (19-feet, 2 1/2-inches) was eighth in the long jump.

The girls team took fourth with 92 points, as Anneliese Getola (12.66) won the 100 with a near PR.

She was second in the 200 (27.04), and third in the 100 hurdles (17.20).

“I’m very proud of myself,” said Getola. “This is a good turnout. It’s pretty much exactly what I hoped for.”

She was especially pleased with her 100 time, which was under the state standard.

“Now that I know for sure that it’s an official time, I’m very happy with that,” she said.

Come districts she plans on just focusing on the sprints, and dropping the 100 hurdles.

“That will save me a lot of time,” said Getola.

Caelyn Pine was fourth in the 100 (13.32) and fourth in the 400 (1:04.37), while Katie Lackey was sixth in the 800 (2:40.04) and in the 1600 (6:03.10). Alyssa Parks (13:08.93) took sixth in the 3200.

Parks was fifth in the 300 hurdles at 52.80, while Elizabeth Geer was eighth in the 100 hurdles (18.41), and the 300 hurdles (54.80).

The 4x100 relay (54.32) and the 4x800 relay (11:09.68) were both second, while the 4x400 relay (4:35.83) came in fourth.

Bailey Johnson (7-feet) was third in the pole vault, while Maezee Brown (79-feet) was fifth in the discus. She also took seventh in the shot put at 27-feet, 6 3/4-inches.

Parks (4-feet, 6-inches) was fifth in the high jump, with Geer (31-feet, 7 1/4-inches) sixth in the triple jump.
