LADY LIGHTNING GO 3-1 AT RECENT TOURNAMENT (2022-07-26)

Northern Tier Sports Report
The Lady Lightning Blue went 3-1 at their most recent tournament over the past weekend.

They went 3-0 on Saturday, beating the Central PA Dirt Dawgs 16-1, the NY Titans 8-0, and the Sandlot Sounds 14-0. On Sunday they lost to the Blizzard 4-0.


Against the Dirt Dawgs Hannah Berger went 2-for-3 with 2-RBI, and a run scored, while Kynlee Kunkle went 1-for-1 with three runs scored. Ashlyn Neiley and Kelsea Moore both went 1-for-2 with two runs scored, and an RBI.


Toni Herb went 1-for-1 with a run scored, and an RBI, Kiarra DeLancey was 1-for-3 with a run scored, and an RBI, and Amber White went 1-for-2 with a run scored, and an RBI. Olivia Thompson and Gretchen Schmieg both scored twice, with MaKenna Callear crossing home once.


Callear got the win, striking out three.


In the win over the Titans Neiley went 2-for-3 with a double, and three runs scored, while DeLancey was 2-for-3. Thompson went 1-for-2 with a double, and a run scored, as Schmieg and White both went 1-for-2 with a run scored, and an RBI. 


Moore was 1-for-2 with 2-RBI, and a run scored, while Kunkle was 1-for-3 with an RBI.


Moore got the win in the circle, striking out 10 in five innings of action.


In their final Saturday game Moore led the way, going 3-for-3 with a triple, 2-RBI, and two runs scored, while Neiley was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored, and an RBI.


Herb was 2-for-3 with a run scored, and an RBI, with Kunkle going 1-for-3 with a double, 2-RBI, and a run scored. White went 1-for-2 with a run scored, and an RBI, and Berger and Thompson both went 1-for-2 with a run scored. Schmieg scored twice with DeLancey and Savannah Finan each finding home.


DeLancey struck out two in the win.


In the loss Sunday Neiley (1-for-3), Moore (1-for-3), Herb (1-for-3), and White (1-for-1) each had hits. Callear scored it from the circle, striking out one.
