SUSQUEHANNA RIVER RATS GO 1-1-1 AT DIAMOND NATION (2022-07-26)
Northern Tier Sports ReportThe Susquehanna River Rats 14U went 1-1-1 at Diamond Nation over the weekend.
They beat the Philadelphia Reds 11-3, lost their next game 13-3, then tied the Thunder Wolves Baseball in a high scoring, 11-11, contest.
In the opener they had five extra base hits as Cohen Orlandini and Nick Grazul both went 2-for-3. Grazul had a double with an RBI, and two runs scored, while Orlandini also crossed home.
Logan Ayotte went 1-for-3 with a triple, and a run scored, while Karter Green was 1-for-3 with a double, and 3-RBI. Conner Flynn went 1-for-2 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI, Connor Davidson was 1-for-1 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI, and Matthias Welles went 1-for-1 with three runs scored, and an RBI.
Kenny Mapes also scored a run, as Logan knocked one in.
Green started, and went the first three innings with four strikeouts, four hits, one walk, and three runs, two of which were earned.
Flynn went the final two innings, striking out three with two walks.
In the loss Mapes went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Cooper Robinson was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Flynn (1-for-2) and Ayotte (1-for-3) also had hits, with Grazul and Logan both scoring.
Five different players were on the mound, as Grazul started, and struck out one in one inning of work. Welles went 1 2/3-innings with two strikeouts, Flynn went another 1 2/3-innings with two strikeouts. Ayotte and Logan then combined for a third of an inning, as Logan got a strikeout.
In the tied game Ayotte went 2-for-3 with a double, and two runs scored as Davidson was 1-for-2 with a double, and an RBI.
Mapes went 1-for-3 with 3-RBI, Grazul was 1-for-2 with a run scored, and an RBI, Welles went 1-for-1 with three runs scored, and an RBI, Green was 1-for-1 with two runs scored, while Robinson scored twice and drove in two runs. Orlandini and Logan each scored and drove in a run.
Green started, and went an inning while Logan came on to go a third of an inning with one strikeout. Davidson pitched the final 2 2/3-innings with one strikeout.
