LOCALS IN COLLEGE: SEVERAL LOCALS SUITING UP AT THE NEXT LEVEL (2022-09-19)
Northern Tier Sports ReportCollege athletics having gotten into the groove, along with high school, and here are some locals competing at that level.
FOOTBALL
Canton’s Timmy Ward recently got in a game for Rutgers. Ward played during the Scarlett Knights’ win over Wagner. Rutgers is 3-0, and will host Iowa on Saturday.
Towanda’s Trent Kithcart and Canton’s Caiden Williams both got to play for Lycoming in their loss to Susquehanna. The Warriors are now 1-1 on the season.
Troy’s Mason Imbt (St. Francis) and Jack Imbt (Marist) are on their school’s football rosters. Both teams are 1-2.
MEN’S SOCCER
NEB’s Gavin Merritt has played in five games for Wilkes there, including one start in a 3-1 win over PSU-Berks. Wilkes is 2-3-1 on the season.
NEB’s Collin Cowles has played two games for Keystone College, and started in a loss against Dickinson. Keystone is 1-4 on the year.
Troy’s Wyatt Hodlofski is on the Lycoming roster, with the Warriors 3-1-3 so far this year.
VOLLEYBALL
A Wyalusing trio are playing at the next level. Sage Superko has seen action for Keystone, getting 27 kills, 20 digs, and three blocks on the year. Keystone is 3-6 so far this season.
Lylah Oswald has recorded a kill and a dig for Wikes this year, who is 1-8 on the season.
Emily Girven is on the Mount Aloysius College roster. The Mounties are 2-10 on the season.
MEN’S CROSS-COUNTRY
NEB graduate Luke Tice recently ran at the Misericordia Invitational for Clarks Summit University. Tice was 40th overall with a time of 16:41.60.
