NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: TROY BOYS EARN A SWEEP AT ROUND TOP (2022-09-20)
Northern Tier Sports ReportATHENS — The Troy boys earned a sweep during NTL cross-country action Tuesday.
They used a pack mentality, taking 3rd-through-7th as they beat Athens (24-35) and Sayre (15-50).
The Wildcats went 1-2 with Ethan Hicks (18:21) winning the race, but Troy’s Lance Heasley (19:06) and Jacob Hinman (19:29) were third and fourth.
They were followed by Brody Campbell (19:54) in fifth, Hart Houseknecht (20:02) in sixth, and Lucas Loxsley (20:22) in seventh.
On the girls’ side Athens edged Troy (24-32) while the Trojans defeated Sayre (17-40).
The Wildcats went 1-2 with Sara Bronson (20:39) winning the race.
Troy was led by Katie Lackey (22:17) in third place, while Alyssa Parks (22:28) was fourth. Lilly DePew (24:19) came in sixth, Isis Lyon (25:56) was seventh, and Lilly Robbins (28:47) took 13th to round out their scorers.
In junior high boys’ action Troy fell to Athens 15-44, and beat Sayre 15-50. Garrett Parks (11:57) was the top boy in sixth place.
In junior high girls’ action Troy’s Sheridan Wilcox (13:54) was second.
