NTL VOLLEYBALL: CANTON HOLDS OFF WELLSBORO (2022-09-22)

WELLSBORO — Canton held off a pesky Wellsboro team, beating the Hornets 3-1 during volleyball action Thursday.

The Warriors took the first two sets 25-20 and 25-16, but Wellsboro rallied for the third 25-22. Canton ended the match with a 25-16 win during the fourth set.


Aislyn Williams had 16 points, five aces, 11 kills, one assist, 13 digs, and one block for Canton, while Allyson Butcher finished with nine points, one ace, one kill, 24 assists, and 16 digs.


Jillaney Hartford added three aces, eight kills, one assist, five digs, and one block, with Kendall Kitchen getting two aces, one kill, one assists, and 11 digs.


Keri Wesneski finished with an ace, six kills, one assist, and 11 digs, as Marissa Ostrander had an ace, a kill, one assist, and seven digs.


Chelsea Lehman chipped in with two kills, while Madison Hulbert added an ace.


Wellsboro won the JV match 25-19 and 25-23.


Kitchen had five aces, a dig, and an assist, with Addilyn Pepper getting two aces, two kills, and eight assists.


Charleigh Anderson had three kills and four digs, Lehman had three aces, and five kills, Tara Gilbert had three kills with a dig, Abbey Marbaker had two aces, and two digs, with Allyson Marbaker finishing with a kill and a dig.


Canton will travel to NEB next Tuesday.
