NTL GIRLS' TENNIS: TOWANDA DROPS CLOSE MATCH TO NP-LIBERTY (2022-09-27)
Northern Tier Sports ReportLIBERTY — Towanda girls’ tennis lost a close one to North Penn-Liberty, falling 3-2 during NTL action Tuesday.
The Knights got wins at second and third singles as Lainey Alderfer won 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 over Martina Bradford, while Katey Calaman beat Angeline Benitez 6-4, 6-3.
However, NPL’s Marissa Griess won 6-3, 6-3 over Jocelyn Stroud at first singles, while they swept both doubles matches - both in three sets.
The Mountie team of Amy Feaster and Ellie Brion won 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 over Alysa Bass and Emma Ackley at first doubles, while at second doubles Towanda’s duo of Polina Goncharova and Maddie Blanchard fell 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (10-8) to Ella Weiskopff and Annie Johns.
The Knights will host Montgomery on Saturday at 11 a.m. for their final match of the season.
