NTL VOLLEYBALL: TROY FALLS TO ATHENS 3-1 (2022-09-28)

ATHENS — Troy battled Athens tough, but lost 3-1 during NTL volleyball action Tuesday.

The Wildcats took the first two sets 25-16 and 25-19, but the Trojans stayed alive with a 25-17 third set win. Athens would pull out the victory with a 25-20 fourth set.

Meredith Cole had 12 kills, two assists, one ace, 18 digs, and one block for Troy, while Madison Vargas added six kills, four assists, one ace, 15 digs, and one block.

Kali Ayres had six kills, 14 assists, nine digs, and one block, while Savannah Spencer added eight kills, one dig, and one block.

Lydia Lewis had a kill, an assist, three aces, and 15 digs, Rachel Jackson notched two kills, one assist, four aces, and four digs, and Brenna Jackson had a kill, an ace, and five digs.

Alyssa Johnson finished with two kills, and two digs, as Josie Kerrick had a kill with a block.

Troy lost the JV match 2-0.
