NTL BOYS' SOCCER: NEB LEADS EARLY, BUT WELLSBORO RALLIES FOR WIN (2022-09-28)
Northern Tier Sports ReportROME — It was a tale of two halves for NEB, as they led 2-0 against NTL leading Wellsboro at the half, but the Hornets rallied with four second half goals to get the 4-2 win during NTL boys’ soccer action Wednesday.
Cesar Alvarez scored both Panther goals in the first half, as NEB came out strong.
However, in the second half Sam Rudy had a hat trick, with Jack Poirier also getting a goal, to bring the Hornets back.
Wellsboro had a 14-8 advantage in shots, and 6-1 edge in corner kicks.
Andrew Beers finished with 10 saves in net for the Panthers.
NEB will travel to Athens on Saturday with a 10 a.m. start.
