NTL BOYS SOCCER: TROY'S 'REBUILDING' YEAR PROVIDES HOPE FOR FUTURE (2022-11-14)
Northern Tier Sports ReportIt was a rebuilding year for Troy boys’ soccer, as the youthful team went 1-17 on the season.
Their lone win came 2-1 over North Penn-Liberty about midway through the season, though they did have close losses to Williamson (1-0 and 2-0), NEB (4-3), Elk Lake (4-2), Athens (3-2), Montgomery (2-0), and Towanda (1-0).
“It was a tough season,” said coach Dustin Holdren. “We are still rebuilding, but we have hope for the future next season.”
They found a good goal scorer in Brady Spalding, while senior keeper Eli Randall also kept them in several games. Spalding and Ethan Cole also made NTL all-star teams.
They say good-bye to Eli and Ben Randall, along with Andrew Houseknecht, but return 14 of their 17 players, so some internal improvement is expected.
