NTL GOLF: ATHENS' COOPER THE BRADFORD COUNTY GOLFER OF THE YEAR (2022-11-21)

It was an exciting season on the links, with several Bradford County golfers posting strong performances.

Few were as strong or consistent as Athens’ Evan Cooper. The Athens junior had an NTL best average of 80, and earned medalist honors three times over the course of the season. He also was a state qualifier, making him the Bradford County Golfer of the Year.

Towanda’s Teagan Irish came to the sport late, but had a strong season with a 99.67 average, for a first year player. That makes him the Bradford County Newcomer of the Year.

Athens won a second straight league title, and did so by going undefeated in league matches. That success makes Wildcat coach Lenny Pentka and his staff the Bradford County Coaching Staff of the Year.

The first team golfers are Cooper along with teammates Dylan Saxon and Brady Darrow. The other golfers on first team are Wyalusing’s Brody Fuhrey, Nick Salsman, and Kaeden Kusmierz.

The second team golfers are Irish, Athens’ Cameron Sullivan, Nick Jacob, and Lucas Kraft, Wyalusing’s Conner Smith, and Canton’s Cohen Landis.
