TROY — The Troy boys’ basketball team is back at work as they look to defend their NTL title.
On the bench with them is a familiar face, former coach Bob Woodward. During Woodward’s previous tenure as coach the Trojans won multiple league titles, and even made the state playoffs.
“We’re excited,” said coach Woodward. “I spent a long time coaching these kids when they were younger. I love the game of basketball, and I especially love being back at Troy. It’s where I teach, it’s where my family is, and we’re excited.”
Joining him are his son Evan Woodward, and his step sons Justice and Lincoln Chimics.
“That’s a neat thing,” said coach Woodward. “I’ve never really thought about it. I’ve coached all these guys for a period of years, and it’s a cool feeling. More time you get to spend with your family, and friends, and I really care about all these guys. I’m excited to spend time together in practice. Maybe they’re not so excited about the practice part all the time, but I think we’ll have a fun year.”
