NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: TOWANDA USES LONG BALL TO TOP NPL

LIBERTY — Towanda broke a 2-game losing streak as they hit 10 3-balls in their 60-48 win over NP-Liberty during NTL boys’ basketball action Tuesday.
Logan Lambert hit six 3-balls en route to a team high 18 points for the Knights, while Elias Shrawder had three 3-pointers for a 12-point night.
Teagan Irish added eight points, as Jack Tavani, Jack Wheaton, and Justin Schoonover all scored six. Will Shrawder and Bayley Poll chipped in with two points each.
Derek Litzelman led NPL with 23 points.
Towanda had five 3-pointers in the first quarter to jump out to a 19-4 lead. Lambert and Elias both had two while Wheaton hit one.
NPL battled back in the second behind eight points from Litzelman, but Towanda played them even, keeping a 15-point lead at the break, 31-16.
In the third they had two 3-balls, but also used the charity stripe, going 5-for-7 as a team, to increase their lead to 44-26.
In the final frame Lambert hit two more 3-pointers to secure the win.
Towanda (8-7) will travel to Williamson on Thursday.
