NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: MORNINGSTAR NETS 48 AS WYALUSING ROLLS PAST WILLIAMSON (2023-01-17)

Northern Tier Sports Report
TIOGA JUNCTION — Blake Morningstar had a career high 48 points, all in three quarters, as Wyalusing broke an 8-game losing streak in their 76-29 win over Williamson in NTL boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

“It was a great team win tonight,” said Morningstar. “It was nice to get back on track with the win after a recent rough stretch. Hopefully this will give us some momentum, and go out and finish this week strong, and get us on a roll.”

Morningstar had 21 field goals in the win, and was 5-for-5 from the free throw line. He also nabbed his 500th career rebound on the night, a part of a 14 board effort.

Trehnon Hugo added 13 points, as Parker Petlock and Zibiah Walton both notched three. Brody Fuhrey, Nick Vanderpool, Ken Mapes, and Will McBride had two points apiece, with Thomas Oliver scoring one.

The Rams jumped out to a 21-11 first quarter lead behind 13 points from Morningstar, and six out of Hugo.

Morningstar’s 18 second quarter points propelled the Rams to a 46-15 halftime lead. In the third the senior put up 17 as Wyalusing extended their lead to 66-25.

His night was done, along with most of Wyalusing’s starters, though they still out scored the Warriors 10-4 in the final frame.

Wyalusing (3-9) travels to NEB on Thursday.
