NTL SWIMMING & DIVING: TOWANDA SWIMMERS PICK UP INDIVIDUAL WINS, BUT FALL TO ATHENS (2023-01-18)

ATHENS — Towanda dropped a pair of dual meets at Athens during NTL swimming action Wednesday.

The boys lost 93-55, while the girls fell 125-18. Individually, Eric McGee, Nate Spencer, and Juliana Varner each had individual wins on the night.


On the boys’ side their 200 medley relay of Sean Lauber, Spencer, McGee, and Luke Tavani won in 2:20.19.


Spencer was second in the 200 free at 2:18.30, followed by Alex Lantz (2:19.19), and Tavani (2:21.29).


McGee (28.81) and Lauber (30.38) went second and third in the 50 free, while Braeden Pratt (34.01) took sixth.


Tavani (1:03.42) was second in the 100 free, followed by Lauber (1:07.62) and Dan Storrs (1:10.93) in third and fourth. Lantz (6:30.58) was second in the 500 free.


Towanda’s 200 free relay of Tavani, Storrs, Lauber, and Pratt took third in 2:04.00.


McGee (1:18.77) won the 100 backstroke with Spencer (1:16.63) winning the 100 breaststroke. Spencer won by .12 seconds.


Towanda’s 400 free relay of Lantz, Storrs, McGee, and Pratt took second in 4:46.59.


On the girls’ side Towanda’s duo of Varner and Marisa Wise went 1-2 in the 50 free in 28:01 and 28:07.


Varner also took second in the 100 free in 1:02.92 with Jadia Lamphere (1:30.65) fifth. Wise (6:47.79) was third in the 500 free.


Towanda will travel to Tunkhannock this weekend for their invitational.
