TOWANDA — Eight different Towanda players got into the scorebook on Friday as they defeated NP-Mansfield 51-27 during NTL girls’ basketball action.

The Knights jumped out to a 24-3 first quarter lead and never looked back.


Paige Manchester had 20 points on 9-for-12 shooting, to go with five boards, four steals, and two assists.


Brynn Woodruff added seven points and four boards, as Bella Hurley had six points plus five steals. Gracie Schoonover had six points, five boards, and three blocks with Eliza Fowler getting five points.


Aziza Ismailova chipped in with three points, as Tae-Lynn Brabant and Melody Hakes had two points each.


Towanda shot the ball well, going 6-for-11 from deep, and 44-percent from the field as a whole.


Towanda had five 3-balls in the first quarter - two by Manchester, two by Hurley, and one from Ismailova - en route to their 21-point lead. Manchester led the way with 10 points.


She scored six more in the second quarter as Towanda built a 40-5 halftime edge.


Towanda (10-3) will travel to NEB on Wednesday for a big NTL tilt between the two division leaders.
