NTL SWIMMING & DIVING: TOWANDA BOYS TOP BLOOMSBURG, LADY KNIGHTS HAVE TWO HIT DISTRICT TIMES (2023-02-01)

TOWANDA — Towanda boys’ picked up another dual meet win in the pool, beating Bloomsburg 78-48, while the Lady Knights fell 77-25 on Wednesday.

Towanda’s Juliana Varner (50 free) and Marisa Wise (100 free) hit district times on the day. Varner won the 50 free in 28.07, with Jadia Lamphere (37.92) taking eighth. Varner was third in the 100 backstroke in 1:17.75.


Wise was tied for third in the 100 free in 1:03.23, with Jadia Lamphere (1:29.94) fifth. Wise was also fourth in the 200 IM in 2:53.41. 


For the boys, the Towanda foursome of Sean Lauber, Nate Spencer, Eric McGee, and Luke Tavani won the 200 medley relay in 2:14.13. 


McGee also won the 100 backstroke in 1:19.01, with Lauber (1:23.95) third, while Spencer (1:18.48) eked out a win in the 100 breaststroke in 1:18.48.


Alex Lantz (2:17.73) was third in the 200 free as Dan Storrs (2:44.13) came in fifth. Spencer (2:41.43) took third in the 200 IM.


Tavani (27.20) was third in the 50 free with Lauber (29.49) fifth, and Braeden Pratt (36.89) eighth. McGee (1:24.15) took fourth in the 100 fly.


Storrs (1:09.72) came in third in the 100 free, with Pratt (1:16.77) sixth. Lantz (6:10.18) was second in the 500 free, while Tavani (6:24.35) came in third.


Towanda’s 200 free relay of Spencer, Lantz, Storrs, and Pratt was third in 1:58.79. Their 400 free relay of Lantz, Tavani, Lauber, and McGee was second in 4:24.89.


Towanda is back in action on Thursday as they host Athens and Danville.
