NTL SOFTBALL: WYALUSING DROPS TOUGH ONE TO TUNKHANNOCK (2023-05-19)

TUNKHANNOCK — Wyalusing battled state power Tunkhannock, but ultimately lost 6-2 in non-league softball action Thursday.
The Rams took a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the second. They made it 2-0 with a run in the third, but the Tigers got one back in the bottom half of the inning.
Tunkhannock broke through with a 4-run fifth, then added an insurance run in the sixth for the 4-run win.
Janelle Johns (1-for-3) had a home run for the Rams as Addison Bly (1-for-3) and Sydney Friedlander (1-for-3) also had hits. Allie Liddick would score a run.
Johns took the loss, allowing one walk, 12 hits, and six runs.
Johns led off the second inning with a homer on a 2-2 count to give Wyalusing the lead. In the third Liddick would reach on an error, then was moved to second on a Rachel Wilson sacrifice bunt.
Bly singled Liddick to third, with Liddick then scoring on an error for the 2-0 lead.
Wyalusing (13-6) will now wait to see who they play in the district playoffs next week.
