LITTLE LEAGUE: STRONG HITTING CONTINUES FOR TROY IN WIN OVER CANTON (2023-07-03)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTROY — Troy kept the home run train going, belting out two as they defeated Canton, 11-0 in four innings, during District 15 Majors baseball All-star action Monday.
Troy scored in every inning, getting three in the first, two in the second, one in the third, and finishing the game off with five in the fourth.
Brody Ayres (3-for-3) and Blaine Fish (1-for-2) had the two home runs for Troy. Ayres also had a double with three runs scored, and 4-RBI, while Fish scored twice with a run batted in.
Blake Putnam (1-for-1) scored twice, and had an RBI, as Josiah Pesesky (1-for-3) had 2-RBI, with a run scored.
Oakley Roberts (1-for-1) and Caiden Estep (1-for-1) each had a hit, as Hunter Watson, Zack Blasz, and Anthony Jordan all scored. Lucas Kress chipped in with an RBI/
Ayres got the win, with Watson coming on in relief. They combined for a 2-hitter with four strikeouts.
Grant Jennings (1-for-2) and Daniel Inman (1-for-2) had the two Canton hits, as Owen Moore and Kobi Hoover both pitched. They combined for eight strikeouts.
Troy will get a chance at revenge when they host Southern Tioga on Wednesday with a 6 p.m. start in the elimination bracket semifinals.
