LITTLE LEAGUE: TROY MAJORS DROP DISTRICT TITLE GAME TO ATHENS (2023-07-14) Northern Tier Sports Report ATHENS — The Troy Majors All-star baseball team couldn’t solve Ryan Hicks, falling to Athens 5-0 during the District 15 title game Thursday.
Hicks struck out 15 and allowed just one base runner as Zack Blasz reached on a dropped third strike. He would get as far as second base, but be stranded there.
For Troy Brody Ayres went 4 2/3-innings with two strikeouts, while Blaine Fish pitched the final third.
Troy finishes second in the district for the season.
